Summary
Channel your frustration.
Oftentimes the best ideas don’t come from external sources.
They come from within your own frustrations.
When you feel frustrated, you’re on the cusp of innovation.
Rather than avoiding the pain, do deeper inside it.
Here’s what I’ve done with my frustrations:
- Customers requesting mockup → created 3D mockup system
- Making & editing ads → built system for getting videos to come in, rather than creating from scratch.
- Getting copy ideas → created community
- Hated designing emails → built our email channel to be text based
- Overspending budget → built calculator to calculate runway, burn, and reserves
- Not being good at sticking to a strategy → learned chess to get more practice at business
- No time to travel the world → quit and went backpacking for 3-months
